Touchdown Iggles!

In the grand scheme of things the Superbowl doesn't mean squat, but large numbers of people get together to watch it. We all use it as an excuse to hang out and have fun. I wasn't really excited about either team, but I decided to pick the Iggles, as Atrios likes to call them. That being said, the Patriots are probably the only team that could win this much and not piss me off. The keep fairly humble, for pro athletes anyway.

How many game winning PATs or field goals will the Bucs let Martin Gramatica miss before they cut his ass?

Okay, after I watched the breakdown of the game on Sports Center, the last one wasn't his fault. Nor were two of the three blocked field goals. But one was. My question still stands.

Hunter S. Thompson, weighs in on the Super Bowl on Page 2 at ESPN.com:

"The 48-21 score was deceptively close; it might as well have been 111-6. Only a baffling rash of freak plays toward the end of the third quarter kept the game close enough to avoid a forfeiture by Oakland."

Well, even though the Raiders completely blew it, a team with a pirate theme did win. So the game wasn't a total loss ;-)

The one weekend I want to buy Raiders tickets, they are sold out.

Man, talk about starting off on the wrong foot. In week 1 I picked a horrid 5 out of 15 games, so far. Luckily there is only one game left and I don't have many points riding on it. I'm already in second to last place in the family pool. Oh well...no where to go but up!

First week is always a killer since pre-season records mean absolutely nothing. Next week looks like it will have some tough picks as well.

That Cleveland/Kansas City game was BS though! But rules are rules and that guy should have kept his helmet on, even though the game was over. Too bad you can't review penalties.
