The simplicity of the iPod is one of the prime reasons for its appeal.
Important things happen in-between unimportant blog posts.
- Clutches get replaced
- Friends buy houses
- Work blogs get ignored
- Mower blades get replaced
- Pools continue to be ignored
- Books get read
- Movies get watched
- Side jobs get left
- Basketball teams go farther than they've ever gone before
Anyway. Yeah...

Yes, I'm talking about Republicans and not Democrats (for now). Howard Dean let me know that there is a campaign to tell Republican Senator Wayne Allard of Colorado that saying Senator Feingold has "time and time again [sided] with the terrorists" is not what we expect from our senators.
Here is my blurb:
Senator Allard,
There is much to be debated about in Congress. That Senator Feingold is "siding with the terrorists" is really not up for debate, it is beyond the pale. You sir, have participated in a baseless attack against another Senator and you bring shame upon yourself, your party, and the Senate of the United States. Your attack was truly deplorable and I encourage you to take back what you said and apologize to the Senator and all those in this country that feel that censure of President Bush is a topic that is up for debate.
So, there...
So I'm giving Multi-Pass a shot with The Daily Show (iTunes link). I only have one episode, but here are the pros and cons so far.
Pros
- Easy (compared to tracking down a working torrent, hypothetically of course)
- Good quality (basically on par with a download, hypothetically of course)
- No commercials during the show (Comedy Central tacks one on at the end, which is no big deal)
Cons
- DRM
- Format incompatible with my DVD player, basically negated by the DRM though
- I'm paying $9.99 on top of my cable bill which already gives me Comedy Central.
- Auto-downloading doesn't seem to be working, possible because I don't save my iTunes account password and have to manually input it every time I want to purchase something.
I doubt I will renew at the end of my subscription. To me, personally, it is not worth the $10 on top of what I already pay. I might as well just pay Comcast another $10/month and get the PVR box instead. The disadvantage of not going with BitTorrent, over a PVR solution, is that I wouldn't have a TDS archive. That is, if I was using BitTorrent to get copies of The Daily Show.
Every once in a while Cory finds something funny/interesting in my RSS feed. On Wednesday he saw the link to the federal judge who used Billy Madison in a footnote and posted it to Boing Boing. Here is the bump in traffic from that link:

Thanks Cory!

no, windows isn't "open"
I couldn't resist...It's such a lame joke and hardly anybody "gets it" and yet I felt it had to be done.

Maybe "Oh, I'm also Spartacus" will go on the back.
