Morford on the Dems

| | Comments (3)

The Democrats failed ugly.

Neither party should have such power. And the GOP now has far too much. The counterbalance lost its footing. The greedmongers and the power vipers have been loosed like never before in recent history. The center cannot hold.

Mark is usually either scathingly funny, or incredibly depressing. It's the latter this time. But it again, sums it up pretty well. Certainly better than Bartcop's attempt...

"Recent history" being, what, since the late 80's?

The Reps have a fractional majority. It's not like they threw the Dems into the street, and shot them, and hung banners with W's picture on them.

We live in unstable times, and people traditionally become more conservative in such times. I'm really getting sick of this ridiculous doomsday rhetoric.

Never accuse America of having a long memory.

How many people got burned with GW was elected? "He can't really do anything that bad..." "What's the difference between Gore and Bush anyway?"

Lot's of things have gone wrong since then. The "fractional majority" while not filibuster-proof, is across the board - House, Senate, and White House. The agenda is theirs to control.

Now while I fully understand the cyclical nature of politics, and that it will swing around again...I really don't like what I see coming in this cycle.

I hope I'm blowing this way out of proportion, because I hate being right all the time ;-)

Let's also not forget that the left isn't the only place the rhetoric is coming from...
