Trying out Vox
So I got a Vox account and did an initial setup. There isn't a whole lot about it that I don't like. If it continues to grow in popularity and response time suffers, that will be at the top of the list. But there is a lot to like:
- Flickr-like controls on posts and uploads (friends, family, friends & family, everyone)
- It's hosted, so I don't have to take care of the software (MT 3.33 security upgrade anyone?)
- The built-in themes are numerous and quite nice
- There are prompts to get you to write each day and from there inertia will usually take over
I'm not sure how I would deal with my 5 year archive of posts that live here if I decided to exclusive use Vox. Also, I don't see any way currently of getting my information out of Vox. So, I guess my "don't like" list already has one item on it.
