- 1 tube of sealant type goo to fix the leaky shower
- 1 touch sensitive lamp
- 1 50ft garden hose
- 2 spray nozzles (to go with the hose obviously)
- 1 hook for my towel in the bathroom
- 1 60 watt light bulb
- SBC®/Yahoo!® DSL for 12 months
The list of stuff that we still need to buy is three times this length. Luckily it doesn't include any more major appliances. Is it time for the House Warming Party™ yet?
so you realise that this is just the beginning, right? as for major appliances, chris and i had to spring for a water heater last weekend sigh
oh well, the house is still worth every penny!
Don't forget to keep your receipts. It helps us more because we also have tenants, but it's always a good idea to look for creative deductions.
Telecommuters have lots of provisions for writing off miscellany which are not expensed to the employer.
Here's a good tip -- skip the garage sale and take your g'sale items to your favorite charity (who may even pick-up). Then you can turn $2 potential -in-hand for your old jeans into $10 for-certain-deduction.
Your tax preparer should have a good list; I'll make mine available when I get it in hand. An example as I recall from last year:
$10 for a pair of jeans
$20 for a pair of slacks
$30 for a suit jacket
$20 for a jacket
etc.
On the other hand, it's a great way to meet the neighbors.
