The Fire Next Time Tony Fitzpatrick, an S.F.-based engineer and world-renowned authority on tall buildings, says the most reasonable response to the World Trade Center disaster is also one of the simplest: improved fire codes for skyscrapers.

The article goes from the Millenium Bridge in London to the World Trade Center collapse. In both cases getting to the solution first involved making sure you had the right question. It seems obvious, as most good ideas do after you hear them.
