The Red Hot Chili Peppers Got Old

It finally happened. They are officially old. But, it's a good thing. Their latest album By The Way is very, very good. Some people think that Anthony Kiedis is a bad singer...well he's a lot better than me, so that has to count for something!

But seriously, this album will probably not sell well with "the kids" since there aren't any moshable tunes. This isn't Uplift Mofo Party Plan, or even Mother's Milk. This is them having dealt with a life of rock n' roll, and barely surviving though it all to tell the tale. I lost track of how many songs have drug references. By references I don't mean things like "I like to smoke weed" I mean things like "junkie" and "rehab."

You can definately hear the progression from their last album, Californication. This album is the natural next step for them. If you liked the songs like Scar Tissue, then By The Way will be right up your alley.
