Global Warming is Hot!

|

So on one of the mailing lists that I'm on, the topic of the California law for fuel economy came up. It went back and forth and then I thought I was being very clever with this post:

Heard on the news that there is a lawsuit to block the bill now.

Can you imagine automakers up on The Hill claiming that there is no evidence to suggest that there is any such thing as global warming. It could be like the Big Tobacco hearings all over again...

"Senator, we firmly belive that the new Dodge Greenland, which seats 16, has no impact on the environment. In fact, some studies show that the new DODGE GREENLAND, starting at only $39,999.00 fully loaded, may help reduce the chance of heart disease...when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Of course you should consult your physician before starting any diet or exercise program."

"Why thank you Mr. Dodge. You may go about your business. These aren't the greenhouse gases we're looking for."

Even the Bush administration has come to grips with global warming, although they clearly think that nothing can be done about it and we should just "learn to adapt." Dumb bastards...

This morning on the Pat Berry Show, Pat interviewed Vice President Dick Cheney. What follows is not the transcript from that interview:

Pat: "Vice President Cheney, is it true that you said California couldn't conserve enough energy to help make it through the energy crisis?"

DICK: "Yes, and look how right I was!"

Pat: "Yes...I see. Now you claim that nothing can be done about global warming?"

DICK: "Yes, and history will look back and see how right I was! Hey...why are you trying to connect two completely different topics?"

Pat: "No reason Mr. Vice President...just trying to get a feel on your reasoning. So did you invest your profits from insider trading wisely?"

DICK: "Yes! No...wait...yes! No?"
