In my own sick way, I

|

Everytime I see my buddy Dave (and his lovely wife bekki, and their adorable daughter Zoe) I usually come home with a big stack of CDs. You see, Dave works for ADA Music, which is owned by AOL/Time Warner. His job is sales. He goes to the shops in his area and lets them know what's new, what they should buy, and how much. He is really good at his job and everyone likes him. Part of his job is giving away promo CDs. They are the CDs that you buy at used music stores that have a punch through their bar code. I could tell you why, but it is too involved for this item.

Anyway, I came home with a big stack. The new Orbital CD, The Altogether, which is slated to hit US stores September 4, is awesome. It is a double disc, just to piss off all the Orbital junkies who shelled out $20+ for the import CD (read: me). If you like Orbital, you will like this.

The new Bis cd, Return to Central, is really, really good. It doesn't sound like their first album. I don't really remember their first album that much, but I know I didn't like it that much. This is really good. Even kat liked it.

Other things you might check out: Gorillaz, the new James (still an import), and the Planet of the Apes soundtrack.
